I am a Canadian Watercolour Artist and Surface Pattern Designer with a Design degree from the Albera University of the Arts. Since graduating in 2007, I have been working as a professional graphic designer and photographer until my recent transition to full-time artist. Inspired by my garden and all things that bloom, I create beautiful surface pattern designs from original watercolour paintings as well as construct engineered designs from various watercolour elements.
My work inspires a feeling of calm by utilizing subdued colour palettes and selecting subjects that invoke a sense of beauty and tranquility. My experience as a photographer and graphic designer offers me a unique perspective and approach to surface design, as does my extensive experience as a sewist and creator of traditional arts such as embroidery, knitting and felting. When not painting, I spend my time with my amazing husband and two beautiful children.
